Spring 2010 Water Levels in Marina Bay
Thanks to Gord Lundgren for these photos showing the very low water levels on March 13, 2010, from the Marina Bay. As Gord notes "water levels are down below the low level of a normal of "0". To actually know how to read the scale for 'Water Levels' is an actual measurement of volume of water, normal lake level is just below the wire mesh staging as the Ministry is now regulating lake levels below a normal of "0" at a negative of "-4" to the power of '5'. To our amazement. the lake level is at an all time low of a negative " -1 1/4" to the power of '5'. When we actually look at this scale we think of inches, centimetres, and metres, the staging for lake water levels was installed in 1970 or '71. If a person were to take a tape measure and measure in inches it is approximately twenty-three inches below the normal of "0" and below the MNR lake level of thirteen inches."
