Panache Residential Waste Transfer Depot Update
The City of Greater Sudbury is pleased to announce the introduction of a new punch card program that will allow unserviced non-Greater Sudbury residents residing near the Panache Residential Waste Transfer Depot use of the Depot.
This program includes campers outside of the boundaries of
the City of Greater Sudbury and campers on leased land on Atikameksheng
Anishnawbek First Nation (Whitefish Lake First Nation).
The pre-paid punch cards will be available in a 5 punch and 10 punch
cards and each "punch"/circle on the card represents one visit (visits
are defined below).
To register for the program and purchase a card(s), the steps are as
follows:
Application: Non-Greater Sudbury residents must submit
an application to the City's Environmental Services Division.
Applications are available by calling 3-1-1 and paper copies will be
available at the Panache depot beginning later next week. Applications
can be submitted to the City via e-mail, fax or mail. A City
representative will contact the applicant to provide notice of
application approval or denial.
Initial Card Purchase: Once the application is
approved, the pre-paid punch card can be purchased from the City's
Environmental Services Division.
Price: The 5-punch card is $30, and the 10-punch card
is $60.
Payment methods: Applicants can authorize to have a
credit card (MasterCard or Visa only) charged via the application and
the punch card mailed to them. Alternatively, they can pay for and
pick-up the punch card in person at the Environmental Services office
located at 1805 Frobisher Street in Sudbury where they can pay by cash,
credit card or debit card (cheques are not accepted).
Subsequent Card Purchases: Approved applicants may
purchase subsequent cards at the Environmental Services Office located
at 1805 Frobisher Street in Sudbury or by calling 3-1-1 to request an
authorized payment form to pay by credit card via e-mail, fax or mail.
Use of Pre-Paid Cards and Depot: In order to use the
residential waste transfer depot the card holder must present the
pre-paid punch card prior to unloading/disposing waste. The card must
have enough "unpunched" circles for the amount of permitted waste to be
disposed. If the customer does not have their card with them, they will
not be allowed to use the site.
Card holders must provide their name and address to the Site Attendant and allow the Attendant to review their load prior to disposal.
Card holders must abide by the depot policies and procedures as well as comply with directions from the Site Attendant.
Hazardous waste, liquid waste, tires, commercial, industrial, institutional and non-eligible waste are not accepted at the Depot.
The Depot only accepts residential solid non-hazardous household waste and recycling as well as eligible furniture and appliances (see attached list of eligible furniture and appliance items).
One visit includes:
1. Up to three approved garbage bags/containers/bundles (see attached
information sheets) and up to six blue boxes are permitted each time
the card holder visits the Depot. This will count as one visit and the
Site Attendant will punch one circle from the pre-paid card. (Please
note: Card holders may not discard more than 3 bags of garbage and 6
blue boxes of recycling per day. Site Attendants will not punch a card 2
times if the card holder has more than 3 garbage bags and 6 units of
recycling. Extra waste will be rejected.)
2. Eligible Large Furniture and Appliances may be delivered to the
